Located on Baldwin County's western edge but on Mobile Bay's eastern shoreline, Daphne, AL, has been the settlement for Native Americans, as well as the Spanish, French, and British. Before getting its current name in April 1874, the city was originally known as The VIllage of Bell Rose. Even though the town was the seat of Baldwin county for over 30 years at the end of the 19th century, Daphne didn't receive its full incorporation until July 1927. Since the city sits along the waters of Mobile Bay, there are no shortage of attractions for tourists and residents.
